Holy Sacraments

The Holy Sacraments are the sacred means by which God's grace is bestowed upon the faithful. Our cathedral celebrates all seven Holy Mysteries of the Orthodox Church.

Holy Baptism

The Sacrament of entry into the Church. Baptism, Chrismation, and First Communion are administered together for all newly illumined Christians.

Holy Chrismation

The seal of the gift of the Holy Spirit. The newly baptized are anointed with Holy Chrism, receiving the grace of the Spirit for growth in the Christian life.

Holy Matrimony

The Sacrament of Holy Matrimony unites a man and woman in Christ. Please contact the church office at least 3 months in advance to arrange your wedding.

Divine Liturgy

The centre of Orthodox worship. Every Divine Liturgy is a participation in the eternal, heavenly worship offered to the Holy Trinity. All Orthodox Christians in good standing are welcome to receive Holy Communion.

Holy Confession (Repentance)

The Sacrament of Repentance, in which sins committed after Baptism are forgiven through sincere confession before Christ in the presence of the priest.

Memorial Services

Panikhida (memorial service) for the departed can be arranged for Saturdays of Souls, anniversaries of repose, and other occasions. Please contact the church office.

Holy Unction

The Sacrament of Healing — Holy Unction (Euchelaion) is administered to the sick and to all faithful seeking God's healing grace. A general anointing service is held during Holy Week.

Holy Orders (Priesthood)

The Sacrament through which the grace of the Holy Spirit is conferred by episcopal ordination upon deacons, priests and bishops to serve the Church of Christ.

The Church accompanies our faithful to their eternal rest with prayers, the Funeral Service, and burial rites. Please contact the church office immediately to make arrangements.

The Orthodox Church celebrates twelve Great Feasts of the Lord and Theotokos throughout the liturgical year, in addition to Holy Pascha — the Feast of Feasts.
