About the School
The Bulgarian Sunday School has been a cornerstone of our community since 1914, when it was first established by Kozo Temelkov as the first teacher. For over a century, the school has preserved the Bulgarian language and Orthodox traditions for generations of children born and raised in Canada.
Children ages 4 to 12 study Bulgarian language and basic religious knowledge during Divine Liturgy, allowing families to worship and learn together. Teaching materials are provided by the State Agency for Bulgarians Abroad, ensuring high-quality, standardized curriculum developed specifically for Bulgarian diaspora children.
The school year runs from October to May 24th — the feast day of Sts. Cyril and Methody — when a special certificate presentation ceremony takes place to celebrate students' achievements and connect their learning to the saints who gave the world the Cyrillic alphabet.

Parish Choir
About Our Choir
The Parish Choir has been the musical heart of Sts. Cyril and Methody Cathedral since its founding in 1927 by conductor Benyo Benev with over 30 volunteer choristers. For nearly a century, the choir has enriched every Divine Liturgy and special service with the beauty of Orthodox choral music.
The choir performs at Matins and Divine Liturgy every Sunday, as well as at feast days and special occasions. All choir members are dedicated volunteers who share a love for Orthodox sacred music and a commitment to the spiritual life of the parish.
The choir is currently seeking a new director. Our dedicated volunteer choristers continue the tradition of beautiful Orthodox sacred music every Sunday. If you are interested in leading our choir, please contact the church office.

Women's Section — Ladies' Auxiliary
Community Service
The Ladies' Auxiliary works closely with church councils to provide assistance to those in need. They visit and distribute church assistance to the poor, elderly, sick, and lonely — both at Christmas and throughout the year.
Annual Autumn Bazaar
Each autumn, the Ladies' Auxiliary hosts the Annual Bazaar at the Cathedral, selling beautifully handmade items and traditional Bulgarian foods. This beloved community event raises funds and brings everyone together.
Social Celebrations
The Women's Section organizes and celebrates birthdays, name days, and wedding anniversaries for community members, fostering deep bonds of friendship and fellowship within the parish family.
Church Library
The Ladies' Auxiliary cares for, organizes, and preserves the Cathedral's library. The catalogue is predominantly in Bulgarian with some English titles, meticulously compiled by Mrs. Olga Saleva.
